Swiss Coffee Festival

The Swiss Specialty Coffee Association looks back on three successful days at the Swiss Coffee Festival. More than 3,600 visitors, 60 exhibitors, 5 exciting Swiss championships and 17 talks on stage. That (and much more) was the Swiss Coffee Festival 2022.

Great variety
Glowing eyes, passionate conversations, intense coffee aroma – the fourth Swiss Coffee Festival is history. Around 3,600 visitors and 100 volunteers and participants of the Swiss Coffee Championships gathered at the new location in Halle 550 in Zurich Oerlikon to share their common passion: Good coffee. Around 60 exhibitors presented their products to the coffee-loving visitors: From water filters, coffee accessories, coffee machines, coffee grinders, coffee from Swiss roasters to cascara soda and coffee chocolate, there was everything to see and experience. The event was a great opportunity for professionals in the industry to network in a low-threshold way with producers and like-minded people. But you didn’t need to be an expert, because the Swiss Coffee Festival offered everyone the opportunity to experience the wonderful pleasure of coffee in an accessible way and to go home with new inspiration.

Swiss Coffee Championships and exciting supporting program
On stage and in the livestream, more than 17 exciting talks by coffee industry experts offered the opportunity to learn new things about coffee – for example, roasting philosophies, green coffee preparation or reports by former champions from various disciplines.
Various coffees could be experienced directly at so-called cuppings (coffee tastings) at the cupping stand of the Swiss SCA Association and at the Brew Bar of the SCA, where the championship participants brewed their championship coffee for the visitors or demonstrated their latte art skills. The Swiss Coffee Championships also took center stage. At the 5 national championships in the disciplines of Latte Art, Cup Tasters, Coffee in Good Spirits, Barista and Brewers Cup, the audience feverishly wondered which participant would take home the title. They were judged by an international jury of experts from Latvia, UK, Poland, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland. The winners were announced at the award ceremony.

The next Swiss Coffee Festival is scheduled to take place from October 6 to 8, 2023 in Halle 550. The Swiss Coffee Championships 2024 will also be held at this venue.
